Brown Fused Alumina

Brown fused alumina (BFA) is a synthetic abrasive material produced by the fusion of high-quality bauxite in an electric arc furnace at high temperatures. It has a wide range of applications across various industries due to its hardness, toughness, and resistance to wear. Here are some common applications of brown fused alumina:

Polishing Compounds: Used in polishing and lapping applications to achieve a fine finish on metals, ceramics, and glass.

Ceramic Foundry Sand

Ceramic Foundry sand is suitable for all kinds of casting processes and has significant advantages in precision casting with high material requirements and complex structures. It is widely used in lost foam casting, sodium silicate sand casting, self-hardening sand casting, hot box casting, cold box casting, investment casting, alloy surface treatment and production of coated sand, refractory coating, drainage sand, and other fields.

Sand for 3D printing: The investigation proves that utilizing ceramic foundry sand as a raw material for 3D printing sand products can reduce the environmental impacts associated with binder jet 3D printing while achieving adequate mechanical properties.

With an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons of brown corundum powder, 30,000 tons of brown fused alumina grit, 5,000 tons of bauxite fused mullite, 20,000 tons of ceramic foundry sand.
